Eclipse Crossword is software for creating crossword puzzles just for fun, or for educational purposes. It has a very easy-to-use interface, letting you to create a crossword puzzle from a previously-made word list, or directly form scratch. You can save your crosswords for future use or for completing or increasing the number of words.
If you choose to start a crossword from scratch, you should create a list of words first. The list would be as long as you wish and can be composed of related (i.e., terms about a common theme) or unrelated words. Each time you add a new word to the list, you must add a clue so the person solving the puzzle can figure out the right answer. Once you have created your word list and clues, you can give a name to your puzzle, as well as adding your own name and copyright information. Next, you can set the height and widht of the puzzle. Finally, a dialog box will appear, showing you the final product. Then, you can choose to keep or discard the crossword. If you choose to keep it, a new dialog box will appear. You can print your crossword or save it as a Web page, or in RTF, PostScript, WMF or text formats. |
